On Monday, Judge Yanibet Rivas of the Sixth District Court ruled against Cáceres and the coronel Nez de Aza, ordering the payment of a financial guarantee of RD$100 million under the contract, home arrest, an electronic grille, and a ban on leaving the country.
The court granted the defense’s request, and the bar association also asked that the priest be put under house arrest, have his contractually owed $50 million paid, and not be allowed to leave the country. The priest’s son was also given home imprisonment, barred from leaving the country, and had an electronic brazalete installed.
